We chose this blade style, known as the Wharncliffe, for a few reasons: the straight blade allows for stable, controlled cuts across the entire cutting area. This makes Wharncliffes excellent for cutting and slicing.

The spine line descends at two different angles towards the tip, which makes it sharp, allowing for deeper thrusts and also allows for higher machining, thus delivering cutting power in a reduced blade like this one, which has a 6.5cm cutting edge and a total of 16.5cm.

The finish of this configuration is Satin and the grip is Micarta Coyote.

If you notice, the angle of the grip in relation to the blade is also negative in relation to the back line, which increases the energy in each movement, balancing speed and strength in each strike.

The retaining ring has a diameter of 26mm and its position allows a grip with the natural position of the fingers (strong grip without bothering/squeezing the index finger or little finger away from its position).

The steel chosen for this project is the same as the EDC-Mini, Sandvik 14c28n, 3.25mm thick, which now receives heat treatment, increasing the hardness a little further, which is now 60hrc.

We decided to increase the hardness in this line because they are exclusively aimed at defense and cutting soft parts, you will notice that their edge geometry is also thinner, higher machining than the EDC's - Minis, which will deliver greater "razor" cutting power, with the aim of causing maximum damage, reaching depth and long cuts with minimum force.
